About My Work
I am a visual artist creating illustrative paintings around the themes of safety and insecurity, hopefulness and disappointment and I use a variety of mediums but am a painter mostly working in acrylic on canvas. My work interrogates what it means to shore oneself up, excavating harsh truths about who or what we need and how to find calm amidst chaos, in one way or another. Often my paintings reference nature, story, home and family life in a jumbled attempt to question the constant search for comfort both in our bodies and our environments. They are borne from my own struggle with what it means to feel ok in a body that is often in pain and in a landscapes which promises hope just a little further down the path…
As a contemporary artist I am always interested in what is happening in the world around me and and paint hopefully about surviving struggle of all kinds.
